She is also a Certified Public Manager through The Florida State University. Julie Adams holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing from the University of Central Florida and a Master of Science Degree in Sport, Recreation and Tourism Management from Georgia Southern University. She is a long-standing member and volunteer of the Florida Recreation and Park Association where she participates in countless continuing education opportunities and interacts with parks and recreation professionals to remain current with trends and developments in the parks and recreation field. Adams worked with the City of Lakeland for more than 16 years, serving as a Recreation Supervisor and an Assistant Superintendent of Recreation. Prior to joining the City of Winter Haven, Ms. Adams will also serve as a liaison with community partners and organizations to ensure there is a consistent connection and ongoing advancement of department services. ![]() This includes City-sponsored recreational activities, athletic programs, and special events overseeing Willowbrook Golf Course, the Winter Haven Public Library, and the AdventHealth Fieldhouse and guiding the management of day-to-day operations at a variety of City community centers, public parks and green spaces, and cemeteries.
